Overview:

Campotel Technologies is hiring individuals to splice and activate fiber cable in the Visayas area. Primary responsibilities include the ability to splice/test/repair cables/wires in indoor and outdoor settings, read, create and maintain splicing diagrams, maintain activities surrounding the assigned worksite(s), and take splicing field notes. The candidate must be capable of working in all temperatures, climates, and weather conditions and be able to pass a background check and drug screen. The candidate is required to travel anywhere in the Philippines upon the company's request. 


Responsibilities:

  • Performs tasks associated with the electronic upgrade and splicing of cable

  • Test, activate, and troubleshoot equipment after installation

  • Basic daily maintenance of provided vehicle: check fluids, clean and organize vehicle

  • Self-supervise all operations to ensure that all splicing operations are completed in accordance with customer and industry specifications.

  • Field train and control/oversee the work of other Splicers when necessary.

  • Complete daily production reports, mark-up maps, keep track of work hours, complete "as-built maps" for areas built, and track daily production

  • Reconcile all issued parts and materials on a daily basis to ensure accurate material, usage counts.

  • Frequently work independently

  • Other splicing related duties as assigned


Qualifications:

  • Must have previous experience splicing fiber optic and/or copper cable

  • Ability to distinguish colors

  • Must be able to read and build from blueprints and/or wire diagrams

  • Have knowledge of telecommunications network structure

  • Must have a high school diploma or equivalent

  • Must be able to pass a pre-employment background check, motor vehicle check, and drug test

  • Possess a valid driver’s license (class "C" minimum) or be eligible and willing to obtain the required license for the position (possibly class "B" - light commercial)

  • Must be authorized to work in the Philippines

  • Must be willing to travel anywhere in the Visayas


Preferred Qualifications:

  • Certified pole climber or capable of demonstrating proficiency as a pole climber preferred

  • High School Graduate / College Level / Graduate


Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to lift/carry 50 lbs regularly and up to 100 lbs as needed with or without assistance

  • Must be able to work nights and weekends, if necessary

  • Must be able to work in all weather conditions
